Welcome to O Cantinho, a charming cafe nestled in the heart of Angra do Heroísmo on Av. Ten-Cel. José Agostinho. This delightful spot offers not only a taste of the local cuisine but also a cozy place where friendly faces greet you at every turn.

The atmosphere at O Cantinho is wonderfully inviting, making it an ideal spot to relax after exploring the vibrant streets of Terceira. Enjoy a meal on their outdoor sheltered patio or in the cozy two-level interior, perfect whether you're looking for a buzz of local chatter or a peaceful spot to unwind. As stated by one satisfied customer, the atmosphere provides a comfortable setting with a mix of locals and travelers alike.

The cafe's menu boasts a variety of satisfying options but highlights must include the much-acclaimed Francesinha. This delectable sandwich, reportedly perfected over a year, combines layers of savory meats encased in fresh bread, smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce that leaves taste buds dancing with joy. A returning guest, Michael Sandula, fondly remembered his experience enjoying this dish on the patio, complimenting the friendly owner and his passion for food.

For those seeking great value, the prato do dia (dish of the day) is a standout - only 5 Euros for a hearty helping that will leave you comfortably full. Elizabeth Wayland-Seal raves about this value, combining fine local flavors with low prices, ensuring that no visitor goes away hungry.

But it’s not just the food that will draw you in – it’s the warmth of the staff. Many reviews highlight the attentive and cheerful service you receive at O Cantinho. Customers like Teresa Barone have noted how friendly the service is, enhancing the overall dining experience, with many agreeing that it feels like a dining experience shared with friends rather than merely a meal in a cafe.

The desserts here are another must-try, as indicated by Filipe Barreiros, who emphasized the excellent prices and good value throughout the menu. Indulging in the sweet offerings at O Cantinho might just be the highlight of your visit!

Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious burger, a comforting sandwich, or a quick snack with a cafe and vinho, O Cantinho delivers with charm and grace. Make sure to drop by for a genuinely local experience that combines delightful flavors with a friendly atmosphere. You might just find yourself returning for more!

Excelent prices and friendly environment. The food isn't top notch but it's still very good value! Specially the desserts! If you want a more affordable meal in Angra do Heroísmo, this is a great place.

Outside sheltered patio and two level interior . Lower level seems for locals when there. A bit loud so we were comfortable on the patio. Great food, owner was very friendly good english. We had what he called the little french lady. It came from France and took over a year to get the sauce the way it is. Delicious is what I describe it. It is called Francesinha a sandwich with meat. Open on Sunday most are closed.

The francesinha was incredible! Do not skip this place. Delicious food, reasonable prices, quick service and friendly staff. One of the best meals I had in Terceira.

The prata do dia is possibly the best value in Angra! 5 Euros and I was completely stuffed. Indoor and outdoor seating, with cafe and vinho by the glass. Love it!

We stopped here for lunch on our first day and loved it so much we made it our last lunch too! I think it was the owner, but the gentleman we ordered from was awesome! The menu was in Portuguese so he suggested a chicken sandwich for me (which had delicious bread) and the francesinha for my husband! It was very affordable and such a short walk from our hotel at the ocean! The food was delicious, the beer cold, and the service so welcoming! What more could you ask for?
